Posted on Facebook December 31st - The last three months have been busy and we neglected to brag on these members individually, but didn't want to end the year without letting them know how much we appreciate their hard work and dedication to Howe Springs and the citizens we serve. The following members were chosen as Firefighter of the Month for October, November, or December. Members are chosen as Firefighter of the Month for going above and beyond whether on the fireground or around the station. They step up to make sure things run smoothly, and they work hard to make sure Howe Springs is the best it can be in our endless pursuit of serving our citizens to best of our capabilities.
Congratulations to Bennett Hyman, chosen as Firefighter of the Month for October! Congratulations to Eddie McElveen, chosen as Firefighter of the Month for November! Congratulations to Amber Flowers, Hannah White, and Michael Page, chosen as Firefighters of the Month for December!
The reason for multiple members being chosen for December is for these individuals hard work to make sure our big three events were as successful as possible. In October we hosted our annual Open House Event. There were special challenges to overcome due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but was still a great event with over 150 citizens in attendance. In November we celebrated 50 Years of Service with a banquet. Still battling the COVID-19 pandemic, we decided to host the event at the Florence Center. They were able to provide the Grand Ballroom (14,000+ sq. ft.) to allow for social distancing. In December we held our annual Christmas Awards. All of these events took months of planning and preparation to ensure they were a success and everyone was a safe as possible. Thank you for all you do for Howe Springs. We look forward to 2021 and all it has to offer!
